American Sign Language: "Japan"

A version of the sign for "Japan / Japanese"

A version of the sign for "Japan / Japanese"

JAPAN/JAPANESE-[older version, not recommended]

For a relatively extensive discussion regarding how to sign Japan you may wish to consider joining the Lifeprint-ASLU Facebook group so you can view this discussion:

For those of you who don't care to involve yourself with a FB group -- the result of the discussion ended up being that even different skilled JSL signers used slight variations on the sign for Japan.

Notice that she is slightly mouthing "Nihon" while doing the sign for Japan.
