BUFFALO: The American Sign Language (ASL) sign for "buffalo"

There are a few variations for how to sign BUFFALO.

 

This version can mean BUFFALO or BISON:

 

 

Another version that can be used for BISON or BUFFALO:

 

 

A version also based around the horns.

Can mean BUFFALO or BISON:

Note: A friend mentioned to me that the BUFFALO sign when done without extending the pinkie finger refers to the city of Buffalo, NY.
In other words if you do the sign for BUFFALO using an "open-A"-hand it refers to the city, not the animal.
