PUNISH: The American Sign Language (ASL) sign for "punish" or "punishment"

The ASL sign for "punish" looks somewhat as if you are striking someone with a stick.
The dominant hand index finger is moved quickly toward and past the non-dominant bent elbow.  Typically there is no actual contact made but the sign can also be done with contact.

Notes:  The sign "PUNISH" is sometimes used to mean "penalty or penalize." It is good however to keep in mind that sometimes the right sign for a particular "punish" concept might be different from the "PUNISH / punishment" sign. For example, if the "punishment" is a "tax / fee / or fine" you may wish to use the sign for "cost / price."
