3 YEARS AGO: The American Sign Language (ASL) sign for "3 years ago / 3 years past"

The concept of 3 YEARS AGO can be produced by starting with the ending position for YEAR with the dominant hand on top of the non-dominant hand. The dominant hand should have 3 and move back over the shoulder.

Memory aid: Signs that are related to the past typically move behind you, signs that are in the present are in line with the body and signs that are related to the future move out in front of the body.
