American Sign Language:  "Container"


There are as many signs for "container" as there are different types of containers.
Here is a general sign for container but you really do need to choose a version that fits your topic.



BOX:
Here is a general sign for "box."  This sign can also be used for "room."
When showing a box you can either use the general sign, or you can do the sign bigger or smaller to show the size of the box.

BOWL:
Here is a sign for bowl (as in the type of bowl that you tend to put food in:



LID:
There are as many signs for "LID" as there are different kinds of lids. 
Here is a general sign for a "lid" but you really do need to choose a version that matches your topic.

 




The right hand can be adjusted to show the type of lid.
For example I could use "straight" fingers to show that the lid is "flat."




Here is another sign for lid.  Notice the "claw handshape?  That would indicate that the lid has edges and goes down over the edges of the container.  If I use a twisting movement with my right hand it would indicate a "screw-type" lid.
