ASL University: Powerpoints:

Dear ASL Instructors and students:
Some of you have asked for access to my PowerPoint slides.  I'm happy to share. Note these slides, like nearly all of the Lifeprint site are in eternal draft form with occasional updates. These PowerPoints are intended to be used by skilled instructors who are aware of and able to demonstrate the various local versions of signs.  The PowerPoints are also meant to be used in combination with the ASLU self-study lessons.  When used together with a skilled instructor and the ASLU website, students will become used to the fact that there are often multiple ways to sign a word or phrase.  For example, the online pages explain that the appropriate sign for the English word "can" depends on its meaning (i.e. whether you mean "a cylindrical container" or if you mean "the ability to do something").  Some of the slides may (occasionally) use the "Gallaudet" (fingerspelling) font. I recommend you install it so that the slides that use the Gallaudet TrueType font will display properly.   [Click here to visit the "Font Page"]

Tip: To download, try "right clicking" a link and choosing "save target as..."  If you are on an Apple computer, try holding down the "Control" key or the "Command" key while clicking on the link.   Microsoft provides a viewing app for free that generally works well if you just need to "view" the Powerpoints on your computer.  Google: "PowerPoint Viewer" for more information.

Some of these only roughly match the current lesson sentences and vocabulary. Why? Because the curriculum changes and improves as time goes on.  These links are provided in response to requests for access to these files.
