Dear ASL Heroes,
The school district that requested the 2008 Safari has informed me that due
to budget cuts they will not be able to participate in the Safari to the
extent that they originally thought they would.
Since their participation was the 90% of the reason for the Safari, that
means we won't hold the Safari in 2008.
Sorry. If things change, I'll post it here. Hey, maybe 2009?

ASL Safari '08: An Advanced ASL Immersion Workshop
A week-long (Monday - Saturday) American Sign Language training (no-voice) campout.
June 9 through June 14, 2008.
Includes dozens of activities and a variety workshops covering advanced topics.
The training will be provided by a team of instructors. (The majority of
whom are Deaf or HH).
The cost per student is $225.00 (Note: Originally it was $495.00 -- the
first year.)
Participants are provided training, food, and, if needed, tent space. You need to bring your own sleeping bag/pillow. You may bring
your own tent or sleep in one provided by the staff.
This workshop is under the direction of Dr. Bill Vicars, an ASLTA (American
Sign Language Teachers Association) certified instructor who holds an earned
doctorate in Deaf Education from Lamar University (accredited).
Workshop activities and site management are being coordinated by Lynda Park,
a certified interpreter with over 16 years experience.
