Discussion: BANK-STATEMENT
The concept of a "statement" as in a "bank statement" is expressed in various ways depending on the rest of your sentence. Typically if you ask an instructor how to sign "bank statement" you will be told to "spell it." Some other ways to handle it are:
1. PAPER: In the "old days" people got their bank statements as a paper printout in the mail. Thus you may see some people sign BANK PAPER to mean "bank statement."
2. RECORD-[document]: The sign labeled as RECORD is also sometimes labeled (glossed) as "PUT-DOWN." This sign means "to document something" or "to make a note." It can mean "to make a record of" or a paper-trail. Thus a "bank statement" could be signed as BANK RECORD-[document].
3. This next approach is unlikely but I'll list it anyway in case you see it: ANSWER: The sign for ANSWER is also sometimes interpreted as meaning "report" or "response." Thus you could sign BANK MONTHLY ANSWER and it would mean a "monthly bank report."
